Stage 1 Remap · £179
Mobile across the West Midlands. Every map backed up first, reversible free for twelve months.
Stage 1 is the everyday upgrade: more power and more torque on a completely standard car, written into the ECU software your car already has. No parts, no hardware, no drama — the car simply pulls the way it always should have.
It suits almost any turbocharged petrol or diesel. On a daily diesel it fills in the flat spots and makes motorway overtakes effortless; on a petrol hot hatch it wakes up the mid-range where you actually drive. If you are not sure which service is yours, it is this one.
We come to you anywhere in the West Midlands. The visit takes about an hour on your driveway or your work car park, and the car never leaves your sight.
What actually happens
First, your factory calibration is read out of the ECU, verified, and saved to your account. That backup happens before anything is written, on every job, without exception.
Your file then goes to specialist calibrators who adapt it to your exact ECU version, engine and hardware — not a generic file pulled off a shelf for 'a Golf'.
The new map is written, the car is checked over and started, and we do not leave until it runs right. If you ever want the factory map back — MOT, warranty visit, sale — reversal is free for twelve months.
The straight talk
The part most tuning sites leave out. We would rather you decide with your eyes open.
Our headline figures are deliberately lower than some rivals quote, because the calibration stays inside factory tolerances. We would rather leave power on the table than hand back a car that breaks.
We will not tune a car that already has a fault. An engine light, a misfire, a slipping clutch or a clogged DPF gets worse with more torque through it — we check before we write.
Any remap should be declared to your insurer, even a Stage 1. It is straightforward, and our reversible approach keeps MOT and resale simple.
Questions
What gains will my car get?
It depends entirely on the engine, so we quote per vehicle rather than promising a blanket percentage. Search your car on the booking page and you will see realistic figures for your exact engine before you pay anything.
Does Stage 1 need any parts?
No — that is the definition. Stage 1 is software only, on completely standard hardware. If a company asks you to fit parts for their 'Stage 1', they are describing Stage 2.
Will it affect reliability or fuel economy?
A conservative Stage 1 driven normally usually returns the same or slightly better economy, because the extra torque means less pedal. Driven hard, it uses more fuel — physics is not negotiable.
