1. Who we are

Arden Performance is a mobile ECU and TCU remapping service operating across the West Midlands. It is run by Tyrese Mclean, a sole trader trading as Arden Performance. A business address for service of documents is available on request by email.

We do not publish a phone number. Every job starts as a booking so that your vehicle details, address and instructions are recorded in one place. We contact you to confirm your appointment after you book. You can reach us by email at hello@ardenperformance.com.

2. What we do, and what we do not do

We recalibrate the software held in your vehicle's engine (ECU) and, where offered, gearbox (TCU) control units. This is a software service. We are not a garage and we do not carry out mechanical repairs, fault diagnosis beyond what is needed to tune safely, or fitting of hardware parts.

Your original factory calibration is read and saved before we write anything. That backup is stored against your account and can be re-flashed to return the vehicle to standard, free of charge, for 12 months after your tune.

We write conservative, road-safe calibrations. We will not chase a headline figure at the expense of the engine, and we may quote lower gains than another tuner as a result.

3. Booking, prices and payment

The price shown for each service already includes the mobile visit within our normal area. There are no call-out fees or hidden extras beyond any add-ons you choose at the time.

When you book, we contact you to confirm a date. A booking is only confirmed once we have agreed that date with you. We may propose an alternative date if the one you asked for is not available.

Payment is taken on completion of the work, on the day, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We do not currently take payment online through this website.

4. Your vehicle must be fit to tune

A remap assumes a mechanically sound, well-maintained vehicle. Before we attend, you confirm to the best of your knowledge that:

  • the vehicle is serviced and in good running order,
  • there are no existing faults, warning lights, misfires, oil or coolant leaks, or unusual noises,
  • the clutch, gearbox, turbo and related components are healthy, and
  • you have told us about any modification, known issue or history relevant to tuning.

We ask you these questions when you book and again in your service agreement. If, on the day, we judge the vehicle is not safe to tune, we may postpone or decline the work. We will always explain why.

Tuning does not create faults, but it can bring an existing weakness to the surface sooner. That is why an honest condition check protects you as much as us.

5. Manufacturer warranty

Modifying the software on a vehicle that is still under a manufacturer or dealer warranty may affect that warranty. It is your responsibility to check your warranty terms before booking. Our free return-to-stock lets you restore the original calibration, but we cannot control how a manufacturer treats a vehicle that has been remapped.

6. Emissions and motorsport-only work

Some optional work, such as DPF, EGR or AdBlue (SCR) changes, is emissions-related. We offer this strictly for off-road and motorsport use only. It is illegal to use a vehicle so modified on a UK public road, and we require a signed motorsport-use declaration before carrying out any such work.

Our motorsport and emissions disclaimer forms part of these terms.

7. Liability

We take real care with every calibration and we stand behind our work. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • pre-existing faults, wear or weakness, whether or not they were known to you,
  • damage arising from information you did not disclose about the vehicle,
  • consequential losses such as loss of use, hire costs or missed appointments, or
  • the actions of any third party, including how a manufacturer treats a modified vehicle.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the service.

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.

8. Cancelling, and your cooling-off right

You can reschedule or cancel by email before your confirmed appointment. We ask for as much notice as you can give so we can offer the slot to someone else. If we need to move your appointment, for weather, access or any other reason, we will offer you the earliest alternative.

Because you book with us at a distance and the work is carried out at your address, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel for any reason. If you ask us to begin the work within that 14-day period, you can still cancel, but you agree to pay for any work already carried out, and once your tune is completed the right to cancel ends.

9. Your files and account

Calibration files remain our intellectual property and are licensed to you for use on the vehicle they were written for. Through your account you can view your booking, your signed agreement and your documents. Downloads are for your own records and for use on your own vehicle only.

10. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms as the business grows. The version that applies to your job is the one published when you booked.
